Café Modern steals the No. 1 spot from Abacus this month with a Social Score of 167.93, the highest we have seen so far for our Dallas Foodable Top 25 list, which was rolled out in March 2014. Abacus drops to No. 5.
As with most of our cities in May, there have been quite a handful of new additions in the mix, including Chino Chinatown, The Blind Butcher, and Gemma Restaurant, which all made it into the Top 10. We also welcome Casa Rubia and Savor Gastropub onto the list.
Café Modern, located in the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, offers local, seasonal, sustainable food that is creatively crafted. In fact, there is even a disclaimer on its website that the menu may change daily because of their commitment to local, seasonal ingredients. Aside from lunch and dinner (offered only on Friday nights), Café Modern offers brunch and alcoholic beverages. Executive Chef Dena Peterson steers the kitchen, and events include guest chef collabs, a standing “First Friday at the Modern,” with live music and cocktails, and Farm-to-Fork Vegetarian Wine Dinners.
