In this month’s San Francisco ranking, pulled from Foodable Labs’ October data, no restaurant is safe. With four new establishments joining the list — three of which are new to the area — the ranking order is completely mixed up from last month. The only restaurant that held onto the same spot is State Bird Provisions at No. 2.
After over a year of struggling in the bottom-half of Foodable’s San Francisco Top 25, Waterbar claws its way back to No. 1 with a Social Score of 185.45. Last month’s frontrunner, the eponymous Gary Danko, tumbles to No. 9.
Joining the Top 25 for the first time this month, we welcome 1601 Bar & Kitchen, a restaurant specializing in contemporary Sri Lanka cuisine that was named a Michelin Guide “Bib Gourmand” for both 2015 and 2014; Scotland Yard, a New American gastropub and lounge located in the Marina District; Calavera, an Oakland-based Mexican kitchen and agave bar; and Bon Marché Brasserie, nestled on Market Street.
