Kicking off at No. 15 when we first launched the Foodable Top 25 for Detroit in June, Michael Symon’s downtown steakhouse, Roast, has been making its way up the ladder each month. And this month, according to Foodable Labs’ January 2016 data, it debuts at No. 1 with a Social Score of 181.92.
Wright & Company, which has held the No. 1 throne for the past few months, slips one spot to No. 2, followed by Selden Standard, Antietam, and La Dolce Vita to round out the Top 5, respectively. Joining the ranking for the first time this month are Pegasus Taverna, a Greek restaurant located downtown, and Rose’s Fine Food, known for its locally sourced, made-from-scratch dishes and team culture (Rose’s pays all of its employees a living wage and optional gratuities are spread evenly amongst front- and back-of-house staff members).
