For the first time since May 2015, RPM Steak jumps to the No. 1 spot on Chicago’s Top 25 restaurants list for February. Nellcôte, which almost slipped out of the Top 10 last month, bounces back, stealing No. 2. And Michelin-starred Parachute makes its way onto the list for the first time ever at No. 3.
Not new to the game, Parachute serves up creative Korean-American fare in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood. The menu, which changes daily, includes dishes like black kale, sesame gomae, cured egg, sourdough, and avocado; pork belly and mung bean pancake with kimchi, black garlic, hen egg, and pineapple; and udon, Dungeness crab, guanciale, fava beans, and sabayon. The intimate, family-run restaurant, which seats only 40, specializes in shared plates, and while private tables are available, communal seating is a big part of its makeup. Also new to the list this month is Ruxbin Kitchen, a New American restaurant described as a “cozy, offbeat BYOB spot with recycled furnishings.”
This month, we welcome back a couple of concepts and say goodbye to four. Check out the full ranking below!
