Los Angeles Top 25 Restaurants: February 2017

Los Angeles is called the "City of Angels" for a reason —  with all of its downright "to-dine-for" restaurants, how can it not be foodie heaven? Let's see how the scoreboard played out for this round of the Los Angeles Top 25!

No. 1 is truly unique. Not only did it take the throne for this ranking, but it also completely beat out the usual hard-hitters of the LA Top 25. Yup, that's right — first place is a Top 25 first-timer. Talk about a grand debut! P.Y.T. is a vegetarian-centric concept and sits comfortably with a score of 179.65. With its eco-chic vibe, locally sourced dishes, and juiced cocktails, we're sure it'll continue to "grow" on LA diners.

In second place is Hatchet Hall, less than a point behind at 178.91. This edgy restaurant with a hidden spirits bar and interesting décor (taxidermied animals, anyone?) deserves some special recognition, considering it made a huge jump from No. 22 in the last LA Top 25. Kudos to Hatchet Hall for its unprecedented climb. Capping off the top three is Ink., but this hip, minimalist concept is no stranger to bronze — it's been No. 3 before. Will it finally break out of its third-place curse?

On another note, P.Y.T. wasn't the only newbie to land on the Top 25. Congratulations to Italian restaurant Officine BRERA at No. 4 and Korean-Japanese-Latin American fusion concept Terra Cotta at No. 6! It's not easy breaking into the Top 25, especially in the top 10 on the first go, but hey, crazier things have happened.

Los Angeles Top 25 Restaurants: August 2016

It’s no secret that Los Angeles is one of the top food destinations in the country. Thanks to an ever-evolving selection of diverse dining options, foodies in L.A. can just as easily rub elbows with celebrity chefs in a five-star restaurant, as they can indulge in delicious street tacos or Korean barbecue.

With so many choices, staying at the top of the restaurant food chain in the City of Angels is no easy feat. That’s why we’re giving major kudos to all the restaurants on the August 2016 Los Angeles Top 25, whose strong brands and dynamic menu options left little room for new competitors.

Snagging this quarter’s no.1 spot, Alimento, jumping five spots up from no. 6. What’s even more impressive, this laid-back Italian bistro was new to the list last quarter, yet continues to dominate the competition. Owner Zach Pollack’s philosophy of using carefully sourced ingredients from local artisans and growers is definitely paying off.

Odys & Penelope also managed to stay at the top of the list this quarter, moving from no 3. to no. 2. Some of the biggest hits at this churrascaria and grill: the tri-tip, fried wild mushrooms, and cheese puffs.

Leona, meanwhile, has continued to impress diners in L.A.’s Venice Beach area, moving from no. 12 to no. 8 on the list. The diverse menu here has garnered a lot of favorites among guests — the Lamb Belly Wontons and Korean Latke are just a few of the many raved about dishes. Guests also seem to love the restaurant’s chic, yet laid-back ambience.

Also making its way up on the list: Love & Salt. The Italian-inspired eatery went from no. 22 to no. 15.

Los Angeles Top 25 Restaurants: May 2016

Los Angeles isn't called the "City of Angels" for nothing — with thousands of top-notch restaurants, LA is food heaven. But which brands reigned supreme as consumer paradise? We present to you the May 2016 Los Angeles Top 25 Restaurants, ranked through the social consumer data by Foodable Labs.

No. 1 on the list Ink., known for its hip, airy, and minimalist design and cutting-edge, New American fare.  Since the last release of the LA Top 25 rankings, Ink. has made an impressive jump from third to first. But what is even more impressive is the return of this month's No. 2 restaurant, Orsa & Winston. This artsy eatery, one that serves up creative a Asian-Italian menu, last appeared almost a year ago in the June 2015 Top 25 and has made a dramatic comeback at second place.

But while some may have fallen in performance, such as the formerly No. 1 Spago now at No. 8 and previously No. 5 Butchers & Barbers now at No. 11, others like this month's No. 4, Gjusta, have reasons to celebrate. Gjusta, an artisanal bakery that bakes up special breads on-site, climbed up an admirable 16 places from its No. 20 ranking in the last LA Top 25. And we can't forget to congratulate Alimento on its debut appearance on the Top 25 at No. 6.

Los Angeles Top 25 Restaurants: January 2016

The Top 25 Restaurant List returns to Los Angeles this month, featuring a number of exciting position changes. Perhaps most surprising is the complete repeat of the same top five restaurants that have managed to maintain their place on the list for the last few months: No. 1 Spago, No.2 Maude, No.3 Ink, No. 4 Gjelina, and No. 5 Leona.

Yet while the top five restaurants remained the same, this month also saw some shakeups and returnees to the list as well. Odys and Penelope made an impressive jump from No. 12 to No. 6, as did AOC, following close behind at No. 7, up from its previous position of No. 13.

In addition to these shakeups, several restaurants also made their return to the list after a several month absence, such as No. 9 Mastro's and No. 25 Trois Mec.

Los Angeles Top 25 Restaurants: November 2015

This month, Los Angeles' Top 25 Restaurants welcomes a number of new restaurants to the list. Ranking on the list for the first time this month include newcomers to the Los Angeles restaurant scene, such as the Brazilian-inspired Odys and Penelope, local favorites like Manhattan Beach seafood shack Fishing with Dynamite, and such LA classics as Tasting Kitchen and Rustic Canyon.

Rounding out the top three are all veterans to the list, with Wolfgang's Spago once again taking No. 1, followed by Maude and Ink, respectively. Some other Foodable favorites this month include Culver City's Hatchet Hall, which may feature one of the most important wine lists in the city, South Bay's Love & Salt helmed by chef Michael Fiorelli, and Baco Mercat, one of the many Downtown LA restaurants run by chef Josef Centeno.
