New York City Top 25: September 2014

What were the most discussed NYC restaurants on social this month? The NYC list always features some of the highest social scores. Alder, a Top 25 veteran and the no. 2 restaurant this month, was a finalist this year for a RIZMY award

But our first placer is Perilla, who has been holding on strong in the top 5 for the last few months. But things got very interesting this month in Big Apple. Usually, the list is filled with familiar names. Not this month, though! We have five, yes five, new NYC restaurants. These newbies to the list are... Root & Bone at no. 6, élan at no. 8, URBO KITCHENS at no. 10, Decoy at no. 13, and lastly at no.16 with the intriguing restaurant name, Cork Buzz. It seems like it is going to be a busy fall for the NYC restaurant scene.

New York City Top 25 Restaurants: July 2014

Thomas Keller’s Per Se makes it to No. 1 for the first time on this month’s Foodable Top 25 NYC Restaurant rankings with a Social Score of 171.83. This is the highest Score we’ve seen in the NYC market so far. Opened in 2004, Per Se is located on the fourth floor of the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle, and offers New American and French cuisine. The kitchen is helmed by Chef Eli Kaimeh.

Last month’s frontrunner, The Modern, drops to No. 5, with ABC Kitchen swooping into the No. 2 spot. Alder makes a significant jump to No. 3 (up from No. 16), with Perilla placing No. 4 (up from No. 21). Momofuku Noodle Bar and Bar Boulud both take a plunge from No. 3 and No. 4 last month to No. 17 and No. 19, respectively, for July. Eataly and Balthazar both hop back on the list this month, and we welcome Peasant and The Cecil (Harlem) to the Top 25 for the first time.

New York City Top 25 Restaurants: May 2014

May proved to be a solid month in welcoming new restaurants across the board to our Foodable Top 25 city rankings. On the New York front, we welcome Rye, located in Brooklyn, as it makes its Foodable 25 debut.

WD-50 makes its way to No. 1 again for the third time since we began our NYC rankings back in September 2013. The Wylie Dufresne restaurant pushes Arlington Club, April’s No. 1, down to No. 9. May’s Top 5 consists of a new lineup: WD-50 (up from No. 3), Perilla (up from No. 4), Dirt Candy (up from No. 11), The Modern (up from No. 17) and Locanda Verde (up from No. 12), respectively.

New York City Top 25 Restaurants: April 2014

The numbers from the Restaurant Social Media Index are in with April data, and we are seeing quite a few shifts this month in New York City’s restaurant rankings.

Arlington Club has finally made its way to No. 1 with a Social Score of 164.29 after flirting in the Top 10 since January 2014, pushing WD-50 down a couple of spots. As far as the Top 10 goes, Manon, which came in at No. 5 last month, has now fallen off the list completely, as has Catch, which ranked No. 10 in March. Locanda Verde still makes the list, but falls out of the Top 10 for April.

Congratulations to Eleven Madison Park, coming in at No. 5 as a Foodable Top 25 first-timer. Dovetail (No. 21), and Harlow (No. 25) also made the list for the first time this month. Falling off are Manon, Catch, DB Bistro Moderne, American Cut, Estela, and Cassa La Femme.

Located off Lexington between 73rd and 74th Street, Arlington Club is a sushi and steakhouse with a unique setup — the space boasts an open two-level venue with an upstairs mezzanine. The menu is helmed by notable French chef Laurent Tourondel, and includes gourmet steakhouse classics, along with a mix of creative fare.
