New York City Top 25 Restaurants: August 2014

Our Foodable Top 25 NYC Restaurant list proves to be consistent again this month. The list usually consists of familiar names, displaying that these restaurants know how to keep their social activity consistent. Not to mention– the social scores are of the highest across the country.

However, there is some movement between these NYC Top 25 veterans. Alder landed the no.1 spot, after being 3rd last month. While there were some major climbs such as, The Spotted Pig launched from no. 18 to no. 4, with the high social score of 174.92. Balthazer restaurant similarly, moved from no. 20 to being placed in the top five at no. 5 this month. DB Bistro Moderne, which you may have seen this name on other city lists, stayed at no. 21.

New York City Top 25 Restaurants: April 2014

The numbers from the Restaurant Social Media Index are in with April data, and we are seeing quite a few shifts this month in New York City’s restaurant rankings.

Arlington Club has finally made its way to No. 1 with a Social Score of 164.29 after flirting in the Top 10 since January 2014, pushing WD-50 down a couple of spots. As far as the Top 10 goes, Manon, which came in at No. 5 last month, has now fallen off the list completely, as has Catch, which ranked No. 10 in March. Locanda Verde still makes the list, but falls out of the Top 10 for April.

Congratulations to Eleven Madison Park, coming in at No. 5 as a Foodable Top 25 first-timer. Dovetail (No. 21), and Harlow (No. 25) also made the list for the first time this month. Falling off are Manon, Catch, DB Bistro Moderne, American Cut, Estela, and Cassa La Femme.

Located off Lexington between 73rd and 74th Street, Arlington Club is a sushi and steakhouse with a unique setup — the space boasts an open two-level venue with an upstairs mezzanine. The menu is helmed by notable French chef Laurent Tourondel, and includes gourmet steakhouse classics, along with a mix of creative fare.

New York City Top 25 Restaurants: March 2014

For the second month in a row, Wylie Dufresne’s WD-50 claims the top spot in Foodable’s Top 25 Restaurant rankings. Its Social Score rose from 158.64 in February to 163.99 in March. Arlington Club (No. 3) is the only other restaurant that has remained in the Top 5 this month. Saxon + Parole and Marc Forgione have both fallen, and Red Rooster Harlem fell off the list completely. Rounding out the Top 5 for March are, respectively, The Spotted Pig (up from No. 8), Arlington Club (up from No. 5), Perilla (up from No. 13), and Manon (a completely new addition to NYC’s Foodable 25).

New Foodable 25 additions this month, aside from Manon, are Catch, La Cenita, Estela, and Casa La Femme, with Red Rooster Harlem, Lafayette, Charlie Bird, The Stanton Social, Balthazar, and Boulud Sud falling off.

New York City Top 25 Restaurants: February 2014

In our now six months of tracking New York City’s social consumer sentiment toward local restaurants, we’ve seen quite a few shifts from month to month. The data from February has been crunched, putting WD-50 with a Social Score of 158.64 in the No. 1 spot for the first time. A Wylie Dufresne concept, WD-50’s focus is New American cuisine, hosts private dining in its wine cellar, and currently offers two tasting menus. Aside from having a James Beard Award-winning chef, WD-50 is known for its culinary innovation – in both technique and structure.

Perilla, January’s No. 1 holder, drops all the way to No. 13, Marc Forgione remains in Top 5 status, and Momofuku climbs from No. 13 to No. 6. Also making significant shifts, for better or worse, are Betony, Locanda Verde and Per Se.

Congrats to Saxon + Parole, who made #Foodable25 for the first time this month (at No. 2, no less!), and those who jumped back onto the list this month: DB Bistro Moderne, The Stanton Social and Boulud Sud.

New York City Top 25 Restaurants: January 2014

Perilla, which has held steady in the Top 5 each month since we launched the New York City #Foodable 25 rankings in September, has climbed to No. 1 from No. 4 this month, flip-flopping with last month’s top runner, Marc Forgione.

Arlington Club, Per Se, Kin Shop, and RedFarm all took hits this month, but still held on in the rankings. ABC Kitchen is back in the Top 10, jumping from No. 20 to No. 6. American Cut jumped back on the list this month, as did Lafayette and Balthazar.

A Harold Dieterle concept, Perilla is a small venue – 18 tables and 10 spots at the bar – in Greenwich Village that focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients, each dish finely tuned with a precise balance of flavors and textures. At the end of the day, judging by social consumer sentiment, the equation of a notable chef, intimate venue, seasonal ingredients and active social media channels, make Perilla a memorable experience for consumers.
