Miami Top 25 Restaurants: August 2016

The Miami Top 25 is back with higher scores than the last ranking! This list from August is made up of entirely veteran restaurants, meaning all of these restaurants have made an appearance on Foodable’s Top 25 Miami Restaurants.

Although no new restaurants make their debut on the list, we have a few restaurants returning on the list after taking a hiatus. We welcome back Canyon Restaurant, known for its Southwestern fair, the Asian Inspired Gastropub, Pubbelly, and the modern and upscale Chef Adrianne's Vineyard. We also see Uvaggio and Alter, two new restaurants from last ranking’s list return.

As for the top restaurants this ranking, Vagabond Kitchen & Bar, the upscale 50s-themed eatery with a menu of "Americana with a French twist," lands at no. 1. Making a major climb from no. 10 in the last ranking, this zagat rated Miami gem at the Vagabond Hotel is a crowded brunch spot for foodies.

At No.2, Finka Table & Tap launches from no. 9 from the last ranking. This gastropub serves Cuban fare with Peruvian and Korean influences, with a broad selection of Korean and Peruvian beers, along with local Florida micro-brews.

Rounding out this ranking’s top three is Yardbird, a fine-dining restaurant known for its southern comfort and fare and bourbon bar.

Miami Top 25 Restaurants: May 2016

Like the city’s population, Miami’s culinary scene is known for being a melting pot of restaurants inspired from different countries all around the world.

With that being said, it makes perfect sense that the Miami Top 25 Restaurants list would consistently feature restaurants with different cultural tastes.

27 Restaurant & Bar takes the coveted No. 1 spot this month after landing in the top five in the last three top 25 rankings. According to the restaurant’s website, its menu “homage to the diversity of Miami and its melting pot of flavors and cultures.” Evidently, consumers approve.

The top 25 veteran, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, known for its simple bistro menu made up of fresh and local ingredients, lands at No. 2. And rounding out the top three is Macchialina, the rustic Italian restaurant in South Beach, that launched from No. 19 in the last rankings.

Some familiar restaurants return to the list after somewhat of a hiatus, including The Dutch, making a major comeback at No. 4, Zuma returns at No. 12 and so does Market 17 at No. 23.

Foodable also welcomes two brand new restaurants to the list! Uvaggio, a wine bar that serves seasonal small plates in a chic atmosphere, makes its debut at No. 15 and Alter, a restaurant known for its New American fare in the industrial and artsy Wynwood lands at No. 22.

Without further ado, here are Foodable’s Top 25 Miami restaurants for the month of May!

Miami Top 25 Restaurants: September 2015

We love you, Miami. But from an observational standpoint, it seems you are constantly playing with our emotions — consistent inconsistency. This rings true for the Magic City’s dining scene.

This month’s Top 25 rankings, pulled from September RSMI data, brings on three new restaurants (new to the list, at least) — Finka Table & Tap, La Mar by Gaston Acuri, and Mignonette — and welcomes back five restaurants that have dabbled on and off — SushiSamba, Macchialina, Zuma, Prime 112, and Red, The Steakhouse.

Which restaurant came in first? We’ll give you a hint: It’s made No. 1 status before but not since January 2014. Check out the full ranking below to find out who this month’s frontrunner is, and which other restaurants made the list!

Miami Top 25 Restaurants: July 2015

Welcome back to the Top 25, Miami! Are you looking for some more fun in the sun? Hit the town and pull up a seat at these go-to hotspots for July!

Michael's Genuine Food & Drink hopped up from No. 2 and now leads the board with a Social Score of 165.83. This takeover is no surprise, considering Michael's Genuine Food & Drink has consistently landed in the top five for months in a row. Looks like South Florida can't get enough of its New American fare!

But that's not the only thing impressive about this round. Several restaurants have catapulted themselves across the rankings. Prime Italian, which barely clung on last month at No. 25, sits comfortably at No. 6 with a Social Score of 162.18. Tongue & Cheek, which sat at No. 17, climbed all the way back to the top at No. 3 with a Social Score of 163.83.

1826, on the other hand, fell from its solid No. 5 to No. 24 with a score of 157.42. Will this restaurant be able to cook up new ways to get its social score back up?

Miami Top 25 Restaurants: May 2015

Formerly known as Seasalt and Pepper, Seaspice climbs aboard Miami’s Top 25 Restaurants list, making its debut at No.1! We also welcome to the list this month: 1826, 27 Restaurant & Bar (located at the Freehand), The Downstairs at Hotel Astor, Blackbrick (aka Midtown Chinese), Estiatorio Milos and Azul.

Bourbon Steak, which was sitting pretty for the past three months, now falls to No. 3, while Michael’s Genuine stays steady at No. 2. This month’s biggest dropper is The Federal, unsurprisingly, since this past month the restaurant was on hiatus amidst a relocation.

With seven new additions this month, it’s clear to see that Miami’s dining scene is stepping up its game — especially when it comes to hotel dining options. Three of the newbies (27, The Downstairs and Azul) are tucked inside hotels — or in 27’s case, a hip hostel. And with a No. 1 RSMI score of 166.73 for Seaspice, it’s apparent that Miami diners are also showing more love to the restaurants they think deserve it. Last May (exactly a year ago), the RSMI score for the frontrunner was only 151.29, meaning it’s jumped more than 15 points since!
