Bill Sysak, or as he’s more often referred to, “Dr. Bill,” was the Craft Beer Ambassador for Stone Brewing for eight years. He is now in the process of starting his own brewery — Wild Barrel Brewing Company. “Dr.” Bill is a Certified Cicerone® and has proven expertise in selecting, acquiring and serving craft beers.  He received his nickname through his work as a medic in the Army National Guard, and the moniker has stuck with him throughout his career in the craft beer industry. 

At Stone Brewing Co., he was responsible for setting the beverage standard and ensuring the beverage philosophy was followed. “Dr.” Bill is widely considered one of the foremost experts in the field of pairing beer with food. Bill also travels around the country lecturing, hosting dinners and events, and enlightening the populace to the wonders of Craft Beer. He is on the advisory board for SDSU's Business of Craft Beer Program and teaches the courses "Exploring Craft Beer" and "Secrets to Exceptional Beer and Food Pairings". He has been featured in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, DRAFT Magazine, Imbibe, Los Angeles Times, and Food & Wine.
