Andrea Battistella has a really tough job. It must be exhausting to go around to bars and restaurants making sure Prosecco, a dry sparkling wine, is being served properly. That's right: Italy has hired Mr. Battistella as a "prosecco policeman."
Prosecco is the pride of Italy. With rumors of the wine's production dating back to the early 18th century, the Italians are very protective of the famous fizzy aperitif.
Battistella's job, as he describes it in this article, published in The Telegraph, is "...to report infractions of the law to the authorities ... For particularly serious cases, we’ll take the businesses to court,” he said.
