It's not often -er, ever- you see a Celebrity Chef selected as the Keynote Speaker for a Tech Conference. But just like the world of technology itself, FSTEC is pushing boundaries; the company announced yesterday that Chef Robert Irvine (commonly known for his hosting gig on Food Network's "Restaurant: Impossible") will be doing just that at its all-inclusive tech education and networking event, FSTEC NexGen, in Phoenix on Monday, Sept. 23rd.
The two industries - food and technology - have more in common than you may think. Just a tip of the iceberg: Both are universal needs that connect cultures, create experiences, and are always evolving. The food industry married with tech has allowed us to do things like search menus before we check out a new restaurant, provide hilariously scathing Yelp reviews, and place to-go orders online. Foodie tech continues to evolve, providing not only convenience for consumers, but in amping up the overall dining experience. And don't even get us started on how real-time customer service via social media channels has heightened consumer sentiment. We could go on and on - because food merged with technology is our thing - but we'd rather save the details for our Foodservice Digital Marketing Summit #FDMS [send us a tweet and say hello if you're interested in attending!]. FDMS is the first annual digital marketing summit defined for foodservice, and will be filled with a variety of conversational education sessions - from designing for mobile engagement to how to slam dunk on social. No PowerPoints here.
FDMS will take place in conjunction with FSTEC NexGen on Tuesday, Sept. 24th. If you do the math correctly, that's the day after Chef Robert Irvine's Keynote. The great news? Those who hold an FSTEC + FDMS combo pass will be able to attend said Keynote, and we promise you don't want to miss it. Those who purchase combo passes before 7/15 can save $200, so get on that!
