Restaurants across the country are changing from the traditional tipping payment structure to offering servers higher hourly pay and other incentives. A new Philly restaurant, Girard Brasserie and Bruncherie, will be offering their servers $13 an hour, paid vacation and sick days, and health insurance. The restaurant aims to take good care of their staff so they can take good care of their customers. The restaurant also hopes to have less turnover with a more satisfied staff who sees this as a career versus a temporary job.
