In the land of luxury – from multi-million dollar homes to Rodeo Drive shopping – it’s no surprise the City of Angels is also flush with big spender sips.

Whether you’re in the money to drop $100 or $10,000 on a drink, we’ve got the go-to guide for the most expensive cocktails in Los Angeles. 

Ten Pound Bar, Montage Beverly Hills Hotel

Cocktail: ALT-0,1,6,3

Ingredients: The ALT is made with Macallan 18 yr, Lazzaroni Amaretto, Amaro Nonino and Jerry Thomas bitters. If you really want to up the ante, the bar carries the last Macallan 64 year old for purchase. It’s a mere $64k for a 2-ounce shot. Per the Guinness Book of World Records, it’s the most expensive whiskey ever sold at auction. But not to worry about looking frivolous – the money is donated to a charity of your choice.

Copa d’ Oro

Cocktail: Bali Mai Tai

Ingredients: Copa d’Oro doesn’t just have one, but an entire menu – “Because You Can” – dedicated to decadent drinking. Cocktails range from $28-$85, and are mostly classic cocktails using premium or rare spirits. The Bali Mai Tai is made with Appleton 21 yr Rum, Grand Marnier Cinquantenaire, almond syrup and lime juice.

Red O 

Cocktail: The Benjamin Margarita 

Ingredients: Three types of tequila (El Tesoro Paradiso, Partida Elegante, Patrón Burdeos) are in The Benjamin, plus a special cuvée of Grand Marnier, fresh squeezed Mexican lime juice, organic agave syrup and lime sorbet sphere ice cubes. It's finished with Rémy Martin Louis XIII Cognac and blood orange "caviar." You'll find edible gold flakes on the glass rim and served on a silver platter. Available at both locations: Los Angeles and Newport Beach.

The Powder Room 

Cocktail: The Velvet Goldmine

Ingredients: This milkshake is better than yours, indeed. As the world's most expensive, mixologist Adrian Biggs has whipped a crème de la crème slurper, served in a Waterford crystal goblet. It’s made with Bacardi Reserva Limitada, D’usse VSOP Cognac, Neveux Artisan Creamery organic honey, English lavender split black bean Tahitian vanilla ice cream, and Ghirardelli chocolate caramel fudge, and is garnished with edible gold flakes and a Swarovski Nirvana Montana blue-crystal ring. It’s also accompanied with a selection of truffles on a sterling silver ‘truffle tree.’

Bar Nineteen12, Beverly Hills Hotel

Cocktail: Hardy Perfection Cognac Sidecar 

Ingredients: Billed as the “world’s oldest known unblended cognac,” a bottle of Hardy Perfection costs roughly $7,000. This luxury sidecar cocktail is made with Hardy Perfection cognac, Cointreau, lemon juice and a sugar rim.

Vaucluse 

Cocktail: Martini on the Rock

Ingredients: Vaucluse, a new American-meets-Australian restaurant and bar, opened in Charlie Chaplin’s former home in West Hollywood, and is serving up one extremely precious cocktail. It comes with your choice of premium vodka and a sparkling diamond dropped in the bottom of the glass via a nearby jeweler. Pre-ordering is recommended - usually 12 hours in advance - but a diamond drink on the fly is possible as well.
