Food deserts aren’t a new concept, but innovative solutions to bring more healthful foods to impoverished communities continue to grow. For the Bronx, Tanya Fields is making her mark with a mobile market. While other neighborhoods and cities boast food trucks, filled with gourmet street food, Fields has taken that same functionality and business structure to bring fruits, vegetables and other nutritious offerings to the South Bronx area.
