Davies creates a homemade pasta dish using the walnut, which he likens to truffles. The fun video speaks to the 'hyper-local' trend of experimenting with forgotten, local ingredients.
Warning: besides possibly needing to run these walnuts over with a car to open them, you may also need some special equipment for your hands. After chef Davies got the walnuts open he found "this composty black mulch" surrounding the walnut shell that ended up staining his hands black. "I wised up and started wearing gloves," Davies says.
