The Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration reported that nearly 2.2 million Chinese travelers visited the US in 2014, a nearly 451 percent increase from 2007. And according to Rafael Villanueva, senior director of international marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Chinese visitors stay longer and spend more than any other international travelers. As such, local Las Vegas businesses have increasingly been courting Chinese visitors to the Strip.
Restaurant and entertainment venues have begun tailoring tourism advertising strategies towards Chinese markets by taking out ads in many of the country's top entertainment publications. Additionally, there are plans to open familiar Chinese concepts in Vegas to offer Chinese visitors a taste of home.
