Chefs are the new rockstars — their music found within the combination of ingredients they whip up together, and their artwork seen on each plate. But the blank slate of a piece, or dish, often begins before stepping foot into the kitchen. Markets boast aisles of inspiration, especially those carrying specialty items, artisanal goods, and local ingredients.
In Boston, that hub is the fairly new Boston Public Market, the first full-time, year-round farmers market housing local products. As one Bostonian says, it’s essentially the city’s kitchen.
