As of 2016, Austin food truck operators can expect to face new restrictions set to come into effect at the beginning of the new year. As of January 1st, all food truck operators must register their central preparation facilities, or in other words the location where the food truck dishes are prepared, with the city. In addition, each prep facility utilized by these food trucks will be charged a $50 registration fee.
These new regulations join a series of others that went into effect in October that included requiring an individual for each businesses to undergo a food management training as well as requiring all employees to undergo a food handler course.
