Jose Andres, Marcus Samuelsson and the Voltaggio Brothers to Open Restaurants at National Harbor

Some big name chefs have confirmed that they will be opening restaurants at the MGM Casino at National Harbor which will open late next year. Chefs Marcus Samuelsson, Jose Andres and the Voltaggio brothers have all confirmed that they are working on concepts for the new entertainment complex. Chef Jose Andres has revealed that he will be opening Fish by Jose Andres, a Spanish-inspired seafood-focused restaurant with a seasonal crab shack pop-up. The Voltaggio brothers are collaborating on a steakhouse that will infuse both of their styles of cuisine and will be the first restaurant that the two have ever worked on together. Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s restaurant will likely be similar to his Marcus property in Bermuda which highlights his diverse Ethiopian and Swedish background.

For chefs Brian and Michael Voltaggio and chef Jose Andres, this will not be their first time opening a restaurant in the Washington, D.C. area. This project will mark the first D.C.-area restaurant for chef Samuelsson, and will make him the latest big name chef to head to the area. Chefs like Daniel Boulud, Stephen Starr and Dave Chang have all opened projects in the district in the last year. Read more.
