Quick serve chains are getting creative, specifically with their menu offerings and marketing techniques. The most notable recent marketing tactic is McDonald's relaunch of the "I'm Lovin' it" campaign that has been creating a lot of buzz. The brand has started and will be continue until February 14th to randomly select customers who have to pay for their meal in more unconventional and lovin' ways, like with a hug or a call to tell their mom they love them. McDonald's recently has been testing a make-your-own burger concept, as well.

A competitor to the golden arches giant, Jack in the Box has decided to compete by elevating its dining experience with more sophisticated burger offerings- such as the Classic Butter Jack with creamy tomato sauce, green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, and Provolone cheese.
