Seattle has launched a new pilot program that aims to provide more outdoor seating options for local restaurants and bars. These sidewalk seating options, or "streateries" as they have become referred to, would allow restaurants transform parking spaces into sidewalk cafes. During off hours, the "streateries" would also function as parklets for the public.
Fifteen applications for "streateries" have already been slated for approval. According to Mayor Murray, this new plan is meant to help support local businesses alongside adding an additional element to the city's streets. Read More
