Las Vegas is home to a number of regional cuisines, but recently it is pizza that is shining on the Strip. Lately, Vegas has been witnessing a surge of pizzerias opening throughout the city, ranging from delivery to sit down options, each serving up a variety of styles of pies. Downtown Vegas' Pizza Rock has recently opened a second store and plans to open an Italian restaurant in Palace Station in the near future.
Owner Tony Gemignani equates the recent pizzeria expansions as a "renaissance in Las Vegas when it comes to the pizza industry." He is now looking to capitalize on this surge of interest in pizza by developing a "high-end, high quality pizza concept."
