Uber just got a whole lot sweeter.
For today only, the popular ride-sharing service is teaming up with Capital One® to bring New Yorkers gourmet ice cream sandwiches through its UberEATS feature. The service curates daily menus from some of the best restaurants in town, and promises to deliver food in 10 minutes or less. The #UberIceCream one-day-only menu includes frozen treats from Ample Hills, Sprinkles, and MELT Bakery. Prices vary between $10-$13, and delivery is free. $1 from each order will be donated to Food Bank for New York City.
The Uber Ice Cream Menu features Ample Hills’ Black & Walt (1 for $10), which consists of vanilla malted ice cream and malted fudge in between a black-and-white cookie, rolled in a chocolate Rice Krispies crunch; Sprinkles’ Cupcake Sandwich Neapolitan (2 for $13) (yes, the ice cream is really wedged between two cupcake tops); and MELT Bakery’s The Classic (2 for $10) for those who want to keep it more traditional -slash- don’t want to mess with a good thing.
As a bonus, eligible Capital One cardholders can get a sweet treat free (a free order of ice cream valued in NYC is $25) by entering promo code SWEETDEAL upon payment in the Uber app.
For the occasion, the service will be expanding its usual delivery times (instead of 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., it will be serving from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and delivery zones (usually in Manhattan, between 14th St. and 59th, but today it will even reach Brooklyn, as well). Get more details of today’s zones here.
UberEATS is currently only available in New York City, Chicago, Barcelona, Los Angeles, and Toronto. Just like the ride-sharing service, UberEATS is all done via app, including payments.
