Xfinity Live! Expanding with New Restaurant

Only a little more than three-years-old and already heading toward a $6 million renovation, Xfinity Live!, a heralded entertainment center in the heart of the sports complex in South Philadelphia, is expected to complete its planned changes by Sept. 12. A beer garden will be added, as well as considerable outdoor seating.

From a food perspective, the Spectrum Grill will be getting revamped. Formerly a white-tablecloth chophouse option as one of Xfinity Live!'s six main eateries, it will be turned into a casual spot called 1100 Social. Jason Cichonski, who was featured on Season 11 of Bravo's Top Chef and who owns Ela in Queen Village and The Gas Light in Old City, will be leading the charge in the kitchen.

"'Social' is what we are going for. The plates will be designed for sharing at the table, which will encourage conversation, create an energetic environment and will be perfect for large groups," Cichonski said. "I want to do something new and exciting focusing on the harmony of Asian and Mexican flavors. They've always played a big part in my cooking. Both have bold flavors that integrate together well and open up limitless potential." Read More
