Opened in early 2014, Revolution Spirits is best known for its Austin Reserve Gin that incorporates a blend of six botanicals including juniper, rosemary, lavender, lemongrass, pink peppercorn and Texas grapefruit peel. Now, the local chain has plans to introduce a single barrel reserve gin series.
Always experimenting, Revolution Spirits recently decided to age their locally inspired Austin Reserve Gin in French oak barrels, previously used in winemaking, for six months to create a richer, more flavorful spirit. While the first batch was an incredibly limited production as the brand produced a minuscule 27 cases, Revolution Spirits plans to create the aged gin twice a year, with each batch aged in different type of oak barrels.
