In an effort towards attaining a higher degree of sustainability within Seattle's seafood serving restaurants, a new program known as Smart Catch was recently launched that grades restaurants on their level of sustainability. To wine Smart Catch certification, restaurants must serve (or on their way to serving) at least 90% sustainable fish. Those restaurants who reach 100% sustainability earn a special certification on Smart Catch's website as well receive a label to display in their window.
Smart Catch is still starting off small, working with several dozen local Seattle restaurants including classic seafood eateries as well as some of the city's newest hot spots such as the Walrus and the Carpenter. Read More
