We’re Hiring! — Full-Time Editor, Industry Experts, and Video Correspondents

Calling all hungry editors!

Foodable is currently seeking a remote full-time editor as we expand our editorial department. The ideal candidate should have a penchant for writing about the restaurant business with extensive industry knowledge, and must have AP Style editing chops with writing skills to match.

This individual should be a highly organized self-starter with an eye for detail. Directly reporting to the Managing Editor, this individual will be responsible for pitching feature stories on an ongoing basis, as well as providing in-depth research and analysis on industry trends and managing a small group of freelancers.

We are not a recipe or consumer website, but rather a fast-paced network that is changing the course of the global restaurant industry.

Must-Have Skills/Experience:

  • 2+ years of professional journalism and/or editorial experience — experience in food, hospitality, travel, or fashion writing/editing is preferred
  • Impeccable grammar, spelling, and communication skills
  • AP Style knowledge with tremendous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be knowledgable about the food business
  • Time and project management skills (deadlines are not optional)
  • Ability to research quickly and effectively
  • Ability to manage freelancers

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Willingness to be on camera
  • Killer social media skills

Are you a chef, master mixologist, operator, or restaurant consultant? A coffee connoisseur, marketing expert, or culinary/beverage director? We are always looking for the industry’s best to contribute ongoing articles to the Foodable Network.

Our industry experts are thought leaders in their categories and perfectly pair with our B2B trade media platform. With an audience of more than 26 million restaurant professionals, industry decision-makers, and food enthusiasts, we understand the insatiable need for amazing content that captures the rawness of the real restaurant business (not the kind that you see on reality television or read in fluffy consumer magazines). 

Industry experts must, of course, have valid credentials and robust experience in the restaurant industry. Experts are responsible for writing two articles per month (800-1,000 words each) on topics of expertise that provide takeaways for industry professionals.

Are you a natural on camera?

Video. It’s sort of what we do here. And we’re always looking for new faces!

Video correspondents typically host episodes for our “On Foodable Side Dish” WebTV channel in cities all over the world. VCs are required to pitch newsworthy, industry-related topics and should be available to film two times per month. Industry knowledge and access is required for this ongoing freelance role.
