The Breakdown of Mike Isabella’s Food Hall

Since Eataly’s model proved to be successful, restaurateurs are taking big risks on big spaces with the uprise of food halls and elevated food courts, and D.C.’s Mike Isabella is no exception. In what he’s calling Isabella Eatery, the chef-operator’s 41,000-square-foot project, to be housed in Tysons Galleria in McLean—the wealthiest zip code in the Washington Metro area—will include 10 food stops, including an outpost of his highly acclaimed flagship, Graffiato (sans wood-burning oven). But Isabella is not limiting the space to just restaurants — also included will be a coffee shop wielding top-notch beans from roasters around the country, a bar which will give nod to the classic cocktail creations from Isabella’s beverage director, Taha Ismail, and a bold mix of food concepts—from a creamery to a raw bar, and all that’s delicious in between.
