The UK-inspired casual dining chain has just announced plans to open a new prototype on July 26 at its hometown store in Tempe, Arizona. This location will be the first of the many with a new emphasis on entertainment.
The new 11,000-square foot store features an outdoor patio with communal fire and water structures. There is a new gaming area with pool tables, darts, bags and shuffle boards, along with a designated section for live entertainment. The chain has also increased the number of 70-80 inch flat screens with a dozen placed all around the pub.
The seating style is getting revamped too, with raised booth seating, high tops, and banquet seating to fit larger parties.
The bar will now be at the center of the restaurant with USB charging ports and glass front coolers showcasing the beer selections.
The New Look
The restaurant known as “The Best Looking Sports Pub You’ve Ever Seen” is getting a face lift. The design of the store is brighter with “lighter colored wood wainscot, window shades to allow for more light, cobble stone rock accent, strategically placed old Chicago firebrick, and charm pieces such as a 30 ft. by 20 ft. version of the pub’s traditional Irish Sea map that gives a distinct flavor of the old world,” according to a press release.
The entertainment aspect will be directed toward the food too with the TKTV “Crew Cam” that will be projecting real time footage of the food being prepared in the kitchen. Guests will be able to watch as the new menu offerings, like the Sirloin Steak Salad or the Big Rack, slow-roasted, seasoned St. Louis style pork ribs favored with Guinness® BBQ sauce are being made.

The new prototype design is aimed to enhance the fun and entertaining elements of our pub while providing exceptional service, products, and overall experience,” said Ron Lynch, president of the Tilted Kilt in a press release. “Additionally, the central location next to the corporate office will allow us to communicate efficiently with our current and prospective franchisees, managers and guests as we continue on our path of sustained growth throughout the United States and Canada.”
The Emphasis on Training
This store has a new large training room where employees, managers and franchisees can get hands-on training. The chain aims to “enhance management skills and labor efficiency to improve the overall guest experience” with this training center.
The chain is trying to entice potential franchisees with the launch of the new store and training center. Tilted Kilt has announced franchise opportunities across the country, specifically in Seattle and Portland. The chain has 95 locations in the US and aims to open at least 10 more new stores in 2016.
