Shake Shack fans will be biting into more than an appetizer when they download the new Shack App — they'll be chomping into an entire burger. To celebrate the national launch of Shack App for iOS, Shake Shack is giving away free single ShackBurgers to first-time users until Feb. 28. No ifs, ands, but a ton of buns about it!
For a free burger, guests download the app, create an account, and type in the promo code "shackappy" during checkout — no minimum purchase necessary. This offer is redeemable at any U.S. Shack, excluding airport, stadium, and ballpark locations. However, a free burger isn't the juiciest thing about the new app launch. With Shake Shack joining the rest of the industry by going mobile, this means diners can skip the line every time by ordering ahead. This already much-loved brand is continuing to shake things up.
How will this app streamline service? Users simply select their local Shack, choose the best time for pickup, customize their favorite eats (Side Note: Want to feel good about those taste-good Chick'n Shacks? Shake Shack also recently announced their promise to animal welfare and humane chicken sourcing), and wait for a text signaling their orders are ready-to-go.
“The Shack App brings a whole new way to experience Shake Shack for our guests — meeting them where they are, when they want, on their terms,” said Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti said in a release. “Our initial test and rollout have gone very smoothly, and I am thrilled to share that you can now order ahead at nearly all of our U.S. Shacks.”
Considering that in 2016 that National Restaurant Association reported that 83 percent of adults use smartphones or tablets to look up restaurant information and that 51 percent use mobile to order directly from the restaurant's website or use special rewards and deals, creating an app was a smart move for this quickly-expanding fast casual.
All of Shake Shack's classic burgers, hot dogs, chicken options, frozen custard, crinkle-cut fries, and other menu items will be available through the app, and guests will be able to access nutritional information and keep track of food allergies. The Shack App also sends users the latest promos and events, as well as connects to all of the brand's social media channels for immediate feedback. As another fun little treat, app users can view the live Shack Cam of the original location in New York City's Madison Square Park at any time.
