New Board Officers for 2018 Are Announced by the NRA and NRAEF

Earlier this week, the National Restaurant Association (NRA) and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) announced the new board officers for 2018.

“As we head into 2018, our newly elected Board of Directors will provide critical leadership to ensure that restaurants will continue to support the American dream for our employers and employees,” said Dawn Sweeney, President and CEO of the NRA.

Jay Stieber and Sam Facchini were sworn in as Chair of the NRA and Chair of the NRAEF, respectively.

Stieber is the executive VP and general counsel of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises and Facchini is the co-founder and co-owner and operator of Metro Pizza.

“Chairs Jay Stieber and Sam Facchini bring years of experience and a passion for our industry to their new roles. At this important time for restaurants, their first-hand knowledge and dedication will provide valuable insights regarding the challenges our industry faces,” said Sweeney.

These men are just two of 60 voting directors that make up the NRA board.

Stieber, who operates over 40 different concepts in more than 120 locations in 11 states, will be joined by Joe Essa, president and CEO of Wolfgang Puck Worldwide, as vice chair, and Melvin Rodrigue, president and CEO of Galatoire’s Restaurants, as treasurer for the NRA.

Facchini, who operates seven full-service locations serving Las Vegas area for more than 37 years, will be joined by Geoff Hill, managing director of Roark Capital Group, as vice chair, and Stan Harris, president and CEO of the Louisiana Restaurant Association, as treasurer of NRAEF.
