At least, that’s the plan by the brand’s exclusive Florida franchisee— BBX Capital.
Next week, the Seattle-based brand will be opening its first store in Miami-Dade County and fourth Florida store, overall. BBX Capital has already opened stores in Parkland, Coral Springs, and Jacksonville.
This new location will be in Kendall’s The Palms at Town & Country, a Mediterranean-themed, open-air shopping center.
To create momentum for the grand opening, the MOD Pizza decided to offer a free artisan-style pizza to the first 52 guests that visit the store on April 10. Then, to keep the celebration going, all proceeds from the pizzas sold on opening day will be donated in full to the Boys & Girls Club of Miami-Dade.
“We are proud to serve delicious artisan-style pizzas and fresh salads made on demand, along with supporting the community by offering well-paying jobs, career development opportunities and supporting nonprofits in the area,” said Brick Kerge, Vice President of Operations for BBX’s MOD Pizza business in Florida. “We call it ‘Spreading MODness’ and we look forward to bringing it to Kendall!”
Just last July, Foodable calculated the sentiment score for the most loved pizza concepts where MOD Pizza ranked as the No. 1 fast-casual pizza brand. One of the biggest drivers of the company’s success is its ability to recreate a tight-knit culture amongst its employees and the community they serve at each store location. BBX Capital plans to develop 60 MOD locations throughout Florida over the next five to seven years, according to a press release.
Will the MOD team be able to replicate that culture they are known for in the Kendall location and beyond?
