On this episode of On Foodable: Industry Pulse, we talk to Bhavuk Kaul the CEO of Plate IQ as he explains how the data entry software works and helps to save a restaurant’s time.
“Restaurants have a very fragmented supply chain. They receive deliveries from multiple vendors on a daily basis. The information which is on the paper of these deliveries, or rather the invoices, has to be entered into an accounting software. Before Plate IQ, all restaurants were doing all this work, manually. We’ve come in and automated those processes,” said Kaul.
The concept for Plate IQ came after Kaul and co-founder Ram Jayaraman saw the negative impact manual data entry had on the restaurant industry. Now, Plate IQ has processed more than $1.5 billion worth of invoices with a portfolio of top-tier clients including Tender Greens.
“Tender Greens... when they started with us about two years ago at 15 locations and three people doing accounts payable. Now, they’re up to 28-30 locations and they have one person doing accounts payable using our software,” said Kaul.
