Tucked into the lobby of the well-known Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood Florida, lies the intimate cocktail and music lounge, L Bar. Since 2015, L Bar has been offering cocktail enthusiasts the finest handcrafted cocktails using fresh, seasonal produce and house-made syrups along with inventive techniques to create their nostalgic yet progressive and ever-evolving menu.
With the regularly rotating roster of live entertainment, L Bar’s elevated space created by the David Mexico Group gives off an ethereal, futuristic feel.
In this episode of “Across the Bar,” host Paul Barron has a chance to get behind the bar with lead mixologist Gerald Contreras, who has been curating specialized drinks with Hard Rock for the past three years.
L Bar’s recently revamped menu of nine new drinks is split into classics, not so classic, and culinary influenced sections. The goal is to create a cocktail experience that showcases some of the classics that inspire modern mixology and taking that inspiration to create trend worthy culinary driven cocktails.
Watch the episode above for a look at some cocktails melding together premium ingredients with the latest food trends like cold brew coffee and avocados.
Cocktail No. 1: Avocado Toast
One of the most Instagrammed food items of the moment, avocado toast, gets reimagined in this sweet and savory cocktail. Taking on the healthy approach of avocados and combining it with a drink that is reminiscent of a margarita, there is nothing dull about this craft cocktail.

½ oz. Cointreau
¾ oz. Agave Nectar
½ oz. Lime Juice
¼ oz. Lemon Juice
¼ Slice Avocado

Cocktail No. 2: Coffee & A Doughnut
Inspired by the beloved on-the-go breakfast, this handcrafted cocktail uses another consumer favorite, cold brew coffee. That’s not the only ingredient that makes this drink special. The batch of Herradura Reposado Double Barrel tequila used is specifically made for the Hard Rock property in Hollywood, Florida. Topping it off with a chocolate covered doughnut ties in the sugary breakfast theme.

Cocktail No. 3: Bacon & Eggs
Not something consumers would expect to drink, this last breakfast staple is converted into a specialty cocktail. The highlight ingredient is the bacon-infused Buffalo Trace bourbon. Infused spirits have quickly become a trendy way to stand out from the average cocktail. Combined with egg whites and black pepper, liquid breakfast is served.
