In last month’s round of Top 25s, we launched our first international ranking with London. This month, we continue that trend with the first reveal of Canada to coincide with the launch of our Canada blog. Because it would be unfair to focus solely on one area, our Top 25 Canada ranking includes restaurants in Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver, all food cities in their own right.
Debuting in the No. 1 spot is Edulis Restaurant in Toronto with a Social Score of 187.63. Open five days a week, Edulis accepts reservations one month in advance, a clear indicator of its popularity. Edulis has an ever-changing menu — it changes daily depending on bounty, and leans heavily on showcasing seafood, vegetables, and wild mushrooms. During truffle season, they even offer a full 8-course truffle menu. Edulis normally offers two menu type choices: a 5-course meal for $65 or seven courses for $90. Dishes one might expect there include giant Portuguese squid (ink “sausage,” matsutake, hearts of palm, and squid broth) and wild striped bass (porcini mushrooms, roasted fish jus, rosemary, and Brussels sprout leaves).
Only one other Toronto joint fell into the Top 10, which was mostly filled by Montreal restaurants. Check out the full ranking below!
