For the size of Canada, approximately 33 million people, the number of foodservice operations in comparison is relatively large at 90,000. But as big as the industry is in Canada, the real jewels have, amazingly, been kept on the down-low. But that’s all changing.
“In our humbled Canadian way, we’re very quiet about all the great things we do, and we’re trying to change that…We’re really trying to raise the profile of the industry,” Donna Dooher, president and CEO of Restaurants Canada, told “On Foodable Weekly” host Paul Barron in a recent episode from the 2016 Restaurants Canada Show in Toronto.
