While there are no new restaurants premiering on the Top 25 ranking for Chicago this month, six are jumping back onto the list from previous months: Vera, Avec, Taxim, Frontera Grill, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, and CH Distillery. At No. 1 is Stephanie Izard’s Little Goat Diner, which made its No. 1 debut in May 2014, but slipped to No. 6 in June, being replaced by Nellcôte. This month, Nellcôte falls to No. 12. It’s interesting to note that Little Goat Diner’s Social Score for July bounced to 176.55 from 163.72 (the last time it was No. 1, in May).
The Bristol, maintaining its No. 2 spot, is the only restaurant in July’s Top 5 that stayed in from June. Rounding out spots 3-5, respectively, are Next (up from No. 11), Vera (hopping back onto the list for the first time since February), and Sunda(up from No. 10). Because there were a lot of shifts, quite a few restaurants fell off the list this month: Little Market, Kinzie Chophouse, Fat Rice, Old Town Social, Roka Akor, and Tavernita.
