Laura Abshire leads the National Restaurant Association’s work on energy and environmental policy and related advocacy efforts. She works extensively with the NRA’s Conserve initiative, which provides resources to help restaurant operators undertake environmentally friendly actions that improve their companies’ bottom lines. Laura is also the NRA’s liaison for the Food Waste Reduction Alliance, a joint effort with the Grocery Manufacturers Association and Food Marketing Institute, to reduce, reuse and recycle food waste. She previously was deputy chief of staff and legislative director for Rep. Mike Ross of Arkansas, where she concentrated on energy, environmental and telecommunication issues. Abshire has a juris doctorate and bachelor of arts degree from Louisiana State University
