Vanessa C. Rodriguez is a Venezuelan-American, multimedia journalist with solid newsroom experience, specializing in web show production and broadcasting. She is currently the associate editor for Foodable Network where she writes, copyedits, leads ideation for editorial videos, manages the network’s homepage, and mentors a dozen industry expert contributors. Vanessa’s previous and first role at the company was as a producer, where she pitched new show concepts, coordinated shoots, conducted interviews, oversaw post-production of videos, and performed as a videographer. She also coordinated and managed various trade show media stages as the on-site producer for network talents and guest interviewees in Nashville, Chicago and New York.
Rodriguez previously worked as an assignment editor for Univision Network’s morning show, Despierta America, and evening newscasts. While at Univision, she also worked as a field producer for several breaking news events and special projects where she often traveled and managed news crews across multiple cities in the United States.
Aside from being the current lead writer for Foodable, Vanessa has previous published works in news outlets like the Miami Herald and Fox News Latino covering local news and international political topics.
Vanessa Rodriguez is a Florida International University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.
Vanessa is trilingual— fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
Fun-fact: One of her dreams as a young girl was to live in Paris, France. She was able to accomplish this through a six-month study abroad program where she worked on perfecting her French accent at L’Institut Catholique de Paris, while providing for herself through babysitting jobs.
While in Europe she explored the history, arts, culture, and culinary scenes of various countries. With a great passion for food, she ate her way across cities in England, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, and Spain.
Her favorite stories to cover are of human interest, cultural phenomenons, socioeconomics, generational shifts, sustainability, the environment, technology, and business success.
