As per usual, there’s a lot going on in D.C.’s dining scene. And this month is no different, with new restaurants hopping aboard the Top 25 list, others falling hard and some climbing their way back to the top. So, let’s get right to it!
In a recent turn of events, Thai restaurant and 25 sweetheart Little Serow falls out of the Top 10 this month, the first time since July 2014. Last month’s No. 1, Mintwood Place, drops a few spots to No. 5 with its Social Score dropping as well, from 174.11 to 171.91.
Tony Chittum’s Iron Gate, which focuses heavily on local sourcing, swoops into the No. 1 for the first time with a Social Score of 174.16. Iron Gate, which originally opened in 1923, is one of the most historical, continuously operating restaurants in D.C. However, the restaurant did end up temporarily closing and was reopened by Chittum in late 2013.
This month, we welcome DGS Delicatessen, Compass Rose and Daikaya to the lineup for the first time. We also welcome back Mike Isabella’s Graffiato (from November) and Estadio (from December).
